Mark Sidel is a member of the Self-Regulation Advisory Group.
Mark Sidel is Professor of Law at the University of Iowa and Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. He is author of many publications, including Critical Approaches to Law: State Regulation of the Voluntary Sector, to be released in 2007, and More Secure, Less Free? Antiterrorism Policy and Civil Liberties after September 11. Mr. Sidel has taught on the law of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector at Harvard University, University of Iowa, University of Melbourne, the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Earlier he managed the Ford Foundation’s program on philanthropy and the nonprofit sector in New Delhi; was responsible for the foundation’s activities in Vietnam; and served on the foundation team that established its office in China. Mr. Sidel received his bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University, a master’s in history from Yale University, and a law degree from Columbia University.
