Jeff Benz

Jeffrey Benz is a member of the Government Oversight and Self-Regulation Work Group.

Jeffrey Benz is general counsel, managing director of legal and government affairs, and secretary for the United States Olympic Committee, as well as the USOC's acting chief ethics/compliance officer. In 1998 and 1999, Mr. Benz served as a member of the USOC's Special Bid Oversight Commission, which investigated allegations of impropriety surrounding the bid process for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics and made recommendations to reform the bid process. He is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, the National Sports Law Institute Board of Advisors, the American Corporate Counsel Association, the American Bar Association, and the state bars of California, Colorado, and Hawaii. Mr. Benz received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 1990 and his law degree from the University of Texas in 1993. He will graduate from the University of Michigan Business School with an M.B.A. in 2006.
